The Legacy 650 business jet, of Brazilian aeronautical manufacturer Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica (Embraer), has been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC), allowing it to operate in the country, the Brazilian company said. In a statement, Embraer also said that the Legacy 650 had been certified by aeronautical authorities, including the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), of Brazil, The European Air Safety Agency (EASA) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Speaking about receiving certification from the Chinese authorities, the chairman of Embraer China, Guan Dongyuan, said that the executive jet, “is the perfect marriage of excellent performance, advanced technology and intelligent luxury, making it a good fit for the business environment in China.” In 2011, Embraer received a number of orders from Chinese customers for the Legacy 650, including 13 orders from Minsheng Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., and one from cinema star Jackie Chan, who was recently appointed ambassador of the Embraer brand and who will soon join the family of Legacy 650 users. Powered by Rolls-Royce engines, the Legacy 650 has a 7,223 reach and can fly without stop offs from Beijing (Chin) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) or from Hong Kong (China) to Adelaide (Australia), carrying four passengers.
