Sukhoi Su-80GP. TYPE: Multi-purpose transport aircraft. Sukhoi Su-80GP can be operated autonomously for 50 flight hours, or for 15 days, from nonequipped airfields and soil runways, in the nearground air temperatures ranging from -50oC to +45oC. On the 38th Air Show in Le Bourget in 1989, the first model of the turboprop transporter Sukhoi S-80 was shown. The plane is being developed by Sukhoi OKB and the aircraft factory in Komsomolsk / Amur under the "konversija" program. the aircraft was among other things to replace the numerous An-24/26, An-28 and Yak-40 designed and compete with the Antonov An-38 . The design of the machine is very similar to the Scaled Composites ATTT and the Rockwell OV-10 it has three lift-generating surfaces of which the two join the tailboom with the fuselage surface. In the two tail booms the shaft turbine is housed. Both the 3000 WPS strong TWD-1500 and the 1750 WPS ever strong General Electric CT7 -9B were provided. The two rudders are linked by an elevator. The sleek hull for example, offers space for 30 passengers and a so-called "beaver-tail" tailgate is fitted, which allows for easy loading and unloading of cargo. For its first flight, the S-80 should already start in the late 1990s. due to lack of funds, the S-80 program was postponed for a few years. Finally, the combined Freight/Passenger Su-80GP was built as a prototype which would have started in early 1998 for its first flight. But again he program was delayed . The first flight of the prototype was at MAKS −2001 in Moscow issued Zhukovsky. On the fourth September 2001 Igor Wotinzew started with the prototype, 82911, on his first flight. In early 2006, the Su-80 in the KnAAPO in Komsomolsk-on-Amur went into production. There are two different models of the Su-80. The four pre-series aircraft were of a short-fuselage design, while the fifth, sixth and seventh prototypes were stretched by 1.4 m (4 ft 7 in) allowing an extra row of passenger seats.
