Bombardier Aerospace today announced that it received firm orders for five midsize Learjet 85and two large cabin Challenger 605 business jets, from multiple companies of the same group, for principal operation in Germany by Munich-based Jet Air Flug. The total value of the order is approximately $155 million US, based on the 2010 list price for typically equipped aircraft.

Challenger 605 aircraft: In service since January 2007, the Challenger 605 jet features the widest stand-up cabin of any large category business jet available today. It is equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite and an all new cabin electronic system. It can whisk five passengers from Munich-Dar Es Salaam or Dubai-London non-stop*, in superior comfort. Optional equipment on the Challenger 605 business jet now includes the Bombardier Enhanced Vision System (BEVS), providing pilots with significantly improved situational awareness and the ability to observe runway lights and the runway environment in difficult operating conditions, such as low visibility and or darkness.
The new Learjet 85 aircraft - redefining the midsize business jet class
Launched on October 30, 2007, the new Learjet 85 aircraft is the first Bombardier business aircraft built primarily from composite materials and the first business aircraft in the industry to have both a composite fuselage and wing. The jet targets a 3,000 nautical mile range (5,556 km)**, capable of linking Munich-Lagos or Dubai-Rome non-stop*. It will be the largest, fastest, longest range Learjet aircraft ever. Construction of Bombardier's Learjet 85 aircraft manufacturing facility in Quéretaro, Mexico is complete, expansion at the Wichita manufacturing site is underway and parts production for the new aircraft has begun.
