The fourth annual Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) Show has been hailed a success by organiser F&E Aerospace, with a record number of visitors and exhibitors from around the world. In total, around 6200 people attended the biennial event – an increase of 13% compared to the previous show in 2008 – while exhibitor numbers also peaked at 339 companies, including business jet aircraft manufacturers, service providers and suppliers to the industry.
With the exhibition covering the entire central hall at Dubai Airport Expo last month and stretching into the venue’s east hall, some of the biggest names in business aviation were present, including the likes of Royal Jet, Al Jaber Aviation, Lufthansa Technik, ExecuJet Middle East and Dubai World Central. In addition, more than 50 aircraft were displayed on the static park by the world’s leading manufacturers, such as Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream, Dassault, Bombardier, Embraer, Cessna and Hawker Beechcraft. Visitors had the opportunity to enter the planes – ranging from very light jets (VLJ) to super mid-sized aircraft – and review the interior décor, audio/visual features and onboard innovations.
“It’s been three days of successful business deals, co-operation agreements and commitments for regional infrastructure developments,” reflects Weller. “According to feedback from our exhibitors, this year’s show was all about quality, which is typical of this region, quality over quantity. They found that visitors were serious in their queries about aircraft and aviation-related products and services.”
