New environmental standards will change business jets

New environmental safety standards that are developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), may require operators to fleet renewal. ICAO experts from 170 countries offering to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2), which will be removed from the production of many aircraft produced today. Support for the new rules are now 23 states have declared. As recommended by ICAO experts, CO2 emissions standards for aircraft may enter into force in 2020 for new types of aircraft and production models should be discontinued with the 2028, which do not meet the new standards. Community business aviation in the face of GAMA welcomed the new ICAO environmental regulations. The standard will cover all new types of business jets are in production, with a maximum takeoff weight of more than 5.7 tonnes / 12.566 pounds, and most of the new large turboprop aircraft take-off weight of more than 8.6 tonnes / 18.959 pounds.
On the recommendation of CAEP (ICAO Committee on Environment Protection), a new CO2 emission standard will not only apply to new types of aircraft structures after 2020, but also to the supply of new aircraft are in production since 2023. It was also recommended by 2028 to stop the production of aircraft that do not meet the standard. In its current form, the standard recognizes that the reduction of CO2 emissions should be achieved through a range of technological innovations, including through the design of engines, structural and aerodynamic solutions.
