The Australian Government starts consultation to review the list of business jets, which will be allowed to work during night curfews at airports in Sydney and Adelaide. However, appear in the updated list will not get new commercial aircraft.
Infrastructure Minister Warren Truss said that the last time the list was updated in 2005, but since then, new and quiet aircraft, which have not been allowed to work in airports during the ban from 11 pm to 6 am.
"The coalition government is proposing to update the list of aircraft, allowing new, quieter models corresponding to Chapter 4, operated during the curfew," - says the track. "And the old, noisier aircraft that are currently on the list will no longer be able to land during a curfew after 22:00."
The list of aircraft that are allowed to take off and land at night are some of the models of business jets Gulfstream, Learjet and Challenger with a maximum take-off mass of less than 34 tonnes. Propeller aircraft within this limit also allowed to fly at that time, as well as a limited number of flights freight carriers on BAe 146 in Sydney.
The news was greeted by the Australian Association of Business Aviation (ABAA), which for several years has been campaigning for the revision of the list of preferential planes. The Director-General ABAA David Bell says the organization is looking forward to working with officials.
Nevertheless, according to the Warren track, the government will keep traffic at Sydney Airport at 80 operations per hour.
