CESSNA CITATION LONGITUDE
Cessna Citation Longitude: The Autoland Revolution
The 2019 Super Mid-Size That Lands Itself
The Longitude entered service in 2019 as Cessna's flagship Citation. It was designed as a clean-sheet super-midsize jet, powered by two Honeywell HTF7700L engines and equipped with Garmin G5000 avionics.

The cabin is another story.

It is six feet high, flat floor, and can accommodate up to 12 passengers. There is also a walk-in baggage compartment that can be accessed during flight, which sounds like a small detail until you actually operate a business jet regularly. Then you start noticing things like this.
Specifications That Redefine Safety
• Range: 6,482 km (3,500 nm): transatlantic capability with reserves;
• Speed: 893 km/h (483 knots): fastest in the Citation fleet;
• Capacity: 8 - 12 passengers in the stand- up, flat - floor cabin;
• Engines: Honeywell HTF7700L (7,665 lbf) - most powerful in class.

The Longitude introduced G5000 avionics with touchscreen controls, head-up display, and enhanced vision. It was Cessna's statement that super mid-size jets deserve large-jet technology.

The Gen2 Upgrade (2024)

In 2024, Cessna announced the Longitude Gen2 with Garmin G5000 Prime avionics, autothrottles, and enhanced autoland capability. First delivery: 2026.
Three Facts Worth Knowing Before You Buy
  • The Longitude was a clean-sheet Citation.
This matters. Cessna did not simply stretch an older Citation platform and add equipment. The Longitude was developed as a new aircraft, with the Garmin G5000 flight deck and Honeywell HTF7700L engines integrated into the design from the beginning.
  • The published range is 3,500 nm with NBAA IFR reserves.
That is based on a four-passenger mission and standard conditions, so I would never use 3,500 nm as a promise for every trip. Payload, winds, temperature, routing and reserves all change the real-world answer. That is exactly why we calculate the mission before recommending an aircraft.
  • The cockpit has a useful piece of technology that is easy to overlook.
The Longitude's autothrottles are integrated with the flight deck and include envelope protection. It also has an Emergency Descent Mode designed to help in a hypoxia scenario. That is a much more meaningful safety conversation than simply saying an aircraft has "advanced avionics."
Cessna Citation Longitude competitors
Embraer Praetor 600 for sale: up to 4,018 nm, up to 12 passengers.

Bombardier Challenger 3500 for sale: approximately 4,000 nm, up to 12 passengers.

Cessna Citation Longitude for sale: 3,500 nm, up to 12 passengers.

On pure range, the Praetor 600 and Challenger 3500 have the advantage on paper. The Longitude answers with 483 ktas cruise speed, a strong cabin, a mature Cessna support ecosystem and a cockpit that pilots tend to understand quickly.

So I would not tell a buyer that the Longitude beats everything.

That would be sales talk.

I would say this: if your mission fits inside the Longitude's range envelope, it deserves a very serious look.
The Verdict
The Citation Longitude is a serious super-midsize aircraft for an owner who wants speed, useful range and a cabin that works for real business travel.

The numbers are strong: 3,500 nm published range, 483 ktas cruise speed, up to 12 passengers and a six-foot stand-up cabin.

But the number I would focus on is the one you cannot find in the brochure:

Does it fit your mission?

If yes, a Cessna Citation Longitude for sale should be on your shortlist.
