The Falcon 10X uses a single-lever Smart Throttle to control both engines. Dassault developed the concept from the mono-throttle used on the twin-engine Rafale fighter. It is integrated with the Digital Flight Control System and can automate several engine-management tasks, including reduced-thrust takeoffs, noise-abatement procedures and engine-out management.
That is a clever bit of fighter technology brought into civil aviation.
And yes, it is something pilots notice.
- The automatic recovery system is there for a very specific reason.
The 10X's DFCS includes an Automatic Recovery Mode designed to help recover the aircraft from an unusual attitude, such as after a wake-turbulence upset or loss-of-control event.
The system can work with the autopilot and Smart Throttle to return the aircraft toward a safe attitude and airspeed.
This is not a button you press because you forgot how to fly.
It is another layer of protection when something unexpected happens at altitude, at night, or in weather.
That distinction matters.
