The G700 was unveiled in 2019, flew for the first time in February 2020 and entered service in 2024. FAA certification came on March 29, 2024, followed by EASA approval on May 15. The first customer aircraft were delivered in April 2024.

The original idea was simple. Take the G650 cabin concept and give the owner substantially more usable space.

That produced a 17.35 m long, 2.49 m wide and 1.91 m high cabin with 73.71 m³ of volume. Gulfstream allows up to five living areas, 19 seats and 13 sleeping places.

Then the flight-test programme changed the performance numbers. Gulfstream raised the published range from the original 7,500 nm to 7,750 nm and increased the high-speed range to 6,650 nm at Mach 0.90.

That is the G700 in one sentence: a very large cabin without giving up genuine ultra-long-range performance.

• The Pearl 700 was designed for this aircraft:

Rolls-Royce did not simply install an existing engine. The Pearl 700 was developed specifically for the G700 and G800. It produces 18,250 lb of thrust and Rolls-Royce states a 5% efficiency improvement compared with the BR725.
The engine received EASA type certification in 2022.

• The cabin has real flexibility:

Production test aircraft demonstrated different interior approaches, including a galley with more than 3 m of counter space, crew rest, entertainment areas and a suite with a shower.
That flexibility is valuable because the G700 is likely to spend many hours at a time carrying the same people.

• It is a new aircraft, but there is already an ownership detail worth watching:

Rolls-Royce supports the Pearl 700 through CorporateCare Enhanced, covering engine and nacelle maintenance under the programme's terms, with Engine Health Monitoring and a global support network.
There is also a current airworthiness issue buyers should know about. In June 2026, an emergency AD concerning the engine mount system was issued for the G700 and G800, with EASA adopting the requirement in Europe. That does not make the G700 a bad aircraft. It does mean the exact aircraft records and AD compliance need to be checked during acquisition.

Gulfstream G800 for sale / Range: 8,200 nm / Passengers: up to 19.
The G800 is the closest comparison because it shares the Pearl 700 engines and Symmetry Flight Deck. It gives the buyer more range, while the G700 gives up some range for considerably more cabin space.

Bombardier Global 7500 for sale / Range: 7,700 nm / Passengers: up to 19.
The Global 7500 is almost a direct mission comparison. Bombardier lists 7,700 nm and Mach 0.925, while the G700 goes to 7,750 nm and Mach 0.935. The cabin architecture is different, with the Global 7500 using four living areas.

Bombardier Global 8000 for sale / Range: 8,000 nm / Passengers: up to 19.
The Global 8000 moves the comparison toward speed and range. FAA material documents its evolution from the Global 7500, including expansion from Mach 0.925 to Mach 0.950 and other performance changes.

Dassault Falcon 10X for sale / Range: 7,500 nm / Passengers: up to 19.
This is the cabin challenger. The 10X has a 2.77 m wide and 2.03 m high cabin with 78.7 m³ of volume, exceeding the G700 in width, height and total cabin volume.
There is one important difference today. The Falcon 10X made its first flight on June 19, 2026, and has now entered its certification flight-test campaign. The G700 is already in airline-style customer service.

Gulfstream G650ER for sale / Range: 7,500 nm / Passengers: up to 19.
The G650ER remains the obvious pre-owned alternative. The G700 uses the same basic cabin cross-section but stretches it significantly, adding roughly 10 ft of cabin length and two additional windows.
For someone buying pre-owned, that can make the G650ER an interesting comparison.

The G700 is built for missions where six, eight or ten passengers need to travel a long way without turning the cabin into a compromise.

Think Europe to Asia, North America to the Middle East or other intercontinental missions where passengers may work, dine and sleep during the same flight. At Mach 0.85, Gulfstream publishes 7,750 nm. At Mach 0.90, it still publishes 6,650 nm.

The aircraft also works when cabin separation matters. Five living areas give the designer room to separate work, dining, relaxation and sleeping.

But there is a catch.

With a maximum payload of 2,715 kg and only 832 kg of published payload with full fuel, a heavy custom interior plus a large passenger load can change the mission quickly. Actual aircraft weight needs to be checked.

The G700 is a cabin-first ultra-long-range Gulfstream with serious speed behind it.

Its strongest numbers are 7,750 nm, Mach 0.935, a 17.35 m cabin, 73.71 m³ of volume and up to five living areas.

If the mission is eight passengers, long international sectors and a cabin that needs separate working and sleeping areas, the G700 deserves a serious look with the actual aircraft records in hand.
